God is the one who gives these gifts to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God's people to do his work and build up the Church, the body of Christ, until we come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God's Son that we will be mature and full grown in the Lord, measuring up to the full stature of Christ.
Then we will no longer be like children, forever changing our minds about what we believe because someone has told us something different or because someone has cleverly lied to us and made the lie sound like truth. Instead, we will hold to the truth in love, becoming more and more in every way like Christ, who is the head of his body, the Church. Under his direction, the whole body is fitted together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing full of love.
~ Ephesians 4:11-16
"Above all, be the heroine of your life, not the victim."

Have you been smacked around? Sexually assaulted? Verbally abused with intimidation? What about ignored or lied to? Has your husband used words like "submissive" or "crazy" when speaking to you? Or what about your wife? Does she use your children to get what she wants from you?
If so, you need to know these are all different forms of abuse and it's time you started educating yourself to know well enough when to walk away or how to get help. First and foremost, you need to understand you are not alone. There are people out there who can support and encourage you through the process of healing. Find one of those people--a counselor, hospital staff worker, or friend--and TELL YOUR STORY. Talking about it helps break the power the incident has over you; not talking about it keeps you trapped in that victim mentality, forever. Don't take responsibility for someone else's sin. Turn to God and let Him make you whole again. He will take your damaged body and heal you, without scars :)

"Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering."
